Treasury Risk Manager required for the Treasury Risk & Compliance team of this Glasgow based Financial Services company.  This is an initial nine-month fixed term contract with the prospect of extensions or the role becoming permanent.

Reporting to the ‘Head of’, you will be responsible for developing, managing and delivering first line control of risk types relevant to Treasury.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a positive impact on the Customer through effective risk management which keeps the Bank and its customers safe
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders; in particular other Treasury departments, Regulatory Risk and Innovation & Change
  • Ensuring that relevant risks are reported accurately and timely across interest rate, liquidity and FX, identifying any limit exceptions and escalating appropriately
  • Effectively designing and operating controls, identifying non-compliance with regulatory expectations, Bank risk appetite, standards or processes
  • Building reporting processes, including customised end user computing solutions as required
  • Preparing reports for the Treasury Leadership team, Bank committees and Risk, as appropriate
  • Educating and coaching junior members of the team

With a background in Financial Services or Consultancy, you will have broad competence across the range of Prudential Regulation and Balance Sheet Risks, particularly Liquidity and Interest Rate. A working knowledge of Capital, Currency and Funding risks is advantageous. You will ideally be aware of the strategies typical employed by UK banks to manage interest rate and liquidity risk and can demonstrate the ability to build good networks and relationships with internal and external parties
