An exceptional opportunity for a Senior Tax Adviser to join the transaction tax team of this Big 4 Accountancy practice in Edinburgh. This role will often be fast-paced and project-driven and will require strong corporate tax knowledge, project management skills and a commercially-driven approach.

The Scottish transactions team has grown consistently each year and is involved with a wide range of core transactional work including corporate deals, private equity, infrastructure, distressed debt and turnaround transactions and restructuring. As Tax Senior within this team, you will be responsible for maintaining effective client relationships and applying strong tax technical skills to a variety of complex transactions - from acquisitions of small family-owned concerns to high-profile, newsworthy deals. Typical projects include working across Asset Management, Infrastructure, Family offices, Renewables and Real Estate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building and nurturing successful tax relationships with clients, maintaining high standards of service at all times
  • Liaising and working closely with colleagues from other specialist teams including R&D, international tax, employment tax and corporate finance
  • Demonstrating a proven ability to read and interpret both existing and new tax statute
  • Contributing to the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring tax technical excellence and adopting a commercially driven approach
  • Adding maximum value to both clients and the firm through the effective delivery of tax services while ensuring appropriate risk management for both
  • Coaching junior members of the team, providing regular guidance and acting as a role model

Having trained in an accountancy or legal practice, you will be a newly or nearly qualified Tax Advisor or Accountant (CTA/CA/ACCA) or solicitor with corporate tax advisory experience. Previous exposure to Transaction tax and/or project work would be preferred, but not essential. You will be a strong communicator (both verbal and written) and can demonstrate a highly commercial and strategic approach to projects. You will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and take pride in delivering a high-level of client service to strict deadlines.

£Excellent Salary (DOE) + Benefits. This role offers a unique development opportunity with exposure to a wide range of highly-interesting clients and transaction related projects. For more information and a confidential discussion, please contact Lynsey Kerr on (0)131 516 433 or
