Contract Test Analyst (up to 8 months) required to join an experienced team of testers in a global and progressive professional services firm in Glasgow. Reporting to the Test Manager, you will play an integral role in the testing of business IT applications to ensure they meet set standards, requirements and objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analysing testing inputs, preparing and executing tests using defined test procedures
  • Testing of both n-tier and web-based applications
  • Following set test level test plans, working to agreed timeframes and resource plans
  • Prepare detailed test conditions and test scripts
  • Execute test scripts, ensuring results are recorded accurately
  • Maintaining the defect log, prioritising in accordance to guidelines and following to resolution
  • Peer review test documentation
  • Providing daily updates to Senior members of the team and Manager when required
  • Provide weekly progress updates as required
  • Provide full support to senior member of the testing team
  • Managing workload of multiple projects effectively

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience of manual testing frameworks and environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective planning and organisational skills
  • Exceptional problem solving abilities
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or equivalent

Desired skills and experience

  • Exposure to Test automation (Selenium, Zap Test)
  • Continuous improvement processes
  • Awareness of legal applications
  • SQL/PLSQL
  • Microsoft Office templates (Word & Excel)
  • ISEB/ISTQB certification
  • Knowledge of JIRA for Defect Management
  • Exposure Test Management Tooling (preferably Zephyr)
