Ambitious Tax Senior or Assistant Manager sought for this highly-commercial, independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Glasgow.

Reporting to the Tax Partner, you will work with a diverse and interesting client portfolio from a range of sectors including Hospitality, Manufacturing, Technology, Healthcare and Entrepreneurial start-ups. This is a promising opportunity for a tax professional to manage strong client relationships, gain interesting advisory-related experience and progress within a close-knit, specialist tax team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing corporate tax computations to ensure technical accuracy, requesting more information and providing technical advice or support where required
  • Preparing more complex corporate tax returns for clients
  • Building and managing effective client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for your client portfolio
  • Preparing a number of personal tax returns for entrepreneurial clients, working to set timescales and deadlines and maintaining a high quality of work throughout busy returns period
  • Supporting with a range of tax advisory projects as allocated by Partner
  • Regular liaison with clients, HMRC and other specialists in the team
  • Maintaining technical knowledge, working towards further tax qualification if applicable
  • Supporting with ad hoc business development opportunities

You will be a qualified tax professional (ATT essential, CA/CTA beneficial) with a minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in the dedicated tax team of an accountancy practice. Ideally you will have experience of both Corporate and Personal tax; but applications from strong corporate tax specialists with a willingness to learn will be considered. You must have excellent communication and client engagement skills, as well as the ability to successfully manage your own workload effectively.
