Tax Reporting Senior Manager required for the Group Tax team of this Edinburgh headquartered plc.

This newly created position will give you the opportunity to play an integral role in managing the global tax reporting requirements and Corporate Tax obligations of the plc business.  The role is all about....

  • Supporting the provision of a comprehensive corporate tax reporting service to support the business as it continues to grow both in the UK and internationally, working closely with finance colleagues as an embedded part of the wider financial reporting process.
  • Ensuring oversight and provision of MI relating to the group tax profile and effective coordination with external tax reporting processes and requirements, such as country by country reporting
  • Maintenance and provision of a comprehensive corporate tax compliance service, including oversight of internal and external providers and processes as required.
  • Providing technical support to the business for non-corporate tax requirements including oversight or input as appropriate on controls and reporting to support compliance processes
  • Providing tax accounting and technical reporting expertise for the production of Group financial statements in compliance with legislation, accounting standards and best practice
  • Maintenance of an effective tax risk and controls framework for the business
  • Working with other tax colleagues and outsource providers, streamlining, developing and ongoing review of tax reporting processes including implementation of specialised tax reporting technology tools
  • Supervision and development of team members providing applicable feedback, coaching and guidance
  • Establishing and maintaining a strong understanding of how the business operates and work with a wide range of business areas across a range of territories to ensure that tax reporting and compliance is effectively managed across the organisation. 
  • Establishing and developing strong working relationships with advisors, third party suppliers and other external contacts.

You will be a qualified Accountant and / or Tax Advisor with relevant corporate tax technical and management experience gained within a large corporate or within the Big4.  You will have strong UK corporate tax background with significant tax accounting experience and exposure to international tax issues preferred.  The role requires an independent, self-starter who enjoys managing and analysing different streams of activity, with an eye for detail but an ability to stand back and see the wider picture. You will have the ability to adapt to change and a natural drive towards continuous improvement.  You will also possess the relevant people skills to be trusted, creating a credible impression and being able to build relationships based on respect.
