M&A Tax Manager required for the successful and expanding M&A Deals Tax team of this Big 4 firm of Chartered Accountants.

With the option to be based in Glasgow, Edinburgh or Aberdeen, you will play a key role in delivering quality commercial tax advice on transactions.  You will have the opportunity to work on deals for a wide range of clients including private equity houses, cross border ventures to entrepreneurial businesses across the UK and worldwide.

The role offers high levels of responsibility and the satisfaction of working on interesting and challenging assignments, including:

  • Tax Due Diligence reviews - looking at existing and potential tax issues, tax compliance and tax risks for clients wishing to sell/acquire businesses.
  • Tax Structuring advice to help clients operate their business in the most tax efficient manner.
  • Tax Modelling to help our clients make informed economic decisions and shape their business strategy.
  • Pre and post deal services, including assisting clients with pre-acquisition restructuring and implementing new tax planning ideas

You will support the senior team in managing tax advice and implications on a deal portfolio.  You will develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges and assist in the management and delivering of large projects.  In addition, you will build up a network of business contacts and participate in the ongoing training, coaching, and supervision of junior members of the team.

You will be a qualified Accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA), Tax Advisor (CTA, ITP) or Solicitor with a strong technical background in UK corporation tax.  Exposures to Tax M&A processes is advantageous but not essential.  You will have a strong track record of successfully building client relationships and can demonstrate developed communication skills, specifically in negotiating with and influencing others.  You will flourish working in a dynamic deals/project driven environment and in doing so making a real difference to clients.
