Lusona’s client, a highly-respected firm of Chartered Accountants and Advisors, has a rare opportunity for a part-time Tax Advisor (minimum 3 days per week) for their friendly office in Edinburgh.

As Tax Advisor, you will manage a diverse portfolio of corporate and some personal tax clients, dealing predominately with compliance matters and resulting advisory work. Clients include large SME’s, Directors, Partnerships and families across property, healthcare, agriculture, professional services and technology enterprises.

Responsibilities include

  • Preparing corporate tax returns for an interesting portfolio of companies and groups
  • Preparing personal tax returns for Directors
  • Preparing and reviewing P11d’s
  • Working to set tax deadlines, ensuring a high standard of work at all times
  • Effective time and process management
  • Providing ad hoc tax technical advice to clients
  • Building and maintaining effective client relationships and ensuring regular liaison with Account Managers
  • Supporting with the growth and development of both the tax team and the wider business
  • Maintaining accurate records, fee admin and system requirements
  • Adopting and maintaining an enthusiastic, motivated and proactive approach to your duties

You will ideally be a qualified tax professional (ATT preferred, CTA/CA beneficial) with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within the tax function of a professional services firm. Experience of reviewing tax returns would be beneficial. Practical experience of Microsoft Office and tax software is preferred (e.g. Alphatax, CCH). You will have strong communication and inter-personal skills and the ability to effectively plan and manage workload to timescales. Our client can offer study support for those wishing to pursue further tax qualifications.
