Lusona’s client, a market leader in Digital Industrial solutions in the energy and utilities sector, are now looking for a talented support engineer to join their system integration and application support team.

Based in Edinburgh, this role will have responsibility for supporting the operation of the company’s advanced software product, with a key focus on technical systems analysis and providing innovative solutions to meet customer requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or experienced support engineer to build a highly rewarding career within a highly innovative team of experts. Full training and support will be provided as you learn the ropes of this technically stimulating and fast-paced role.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and analysing software running in mission critical infrastructure
  • Working closely with customers, partners and internal teams, adopting a creative approach to detecting and resolving complex system issues
  • Providing technical knowledge and support during software roll-out and implementations
  • Recreating software issues in accurate virtual environments, creating new virtual worlds to modify the software based on new, realistic scenarios
  • Build strong relationships with customers across the globe
  • Validating software, taking part in factory and on-site testing
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in IT Infrastructures (e.g. High Performance Storage Systems, IT Networks, OS/VM environments, etc)
  • Be an ambassador for cyber security

You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Networking, Software Development or similar. Previous experience with in a technical support role will be advantageous. Ideally you will have practical knowledge of Linux or Windows Operating systems and understand relevant network protocols. Scripting experience would be beneficial, as is experience of automation, data analysis and system integration. Overall, you must be able to demonstrate a customer-focused approach and strong problem solving abilities.
