Lusona Consultancy are working with a Global Automotive Organisation, who due to business growth, are looking to appoint Strategic Sourcing Specialist.

This is truly an exciting time to join the business, as it moves from prototype to the next phase of manufacturing.

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic souring strategies for all material and services, develop both short- and long-term strategies for materials and services and will quickly develop a robust supply chain.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Build strong relationships with Suppliers and place orders for PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and Prototypes
  • Work closely with Global Colleagues in Procurement and Supplier Quality to drive alignment to meet quality and cost goals
  • Participate in New Product Development projects and be the integral cog between NPD, Planning and Suppliers
  • Drive spend analysis activities and identify strategic sourcing opportunities within assigned categories

Experience and knowledge for the role:

  • Proven experience of working in a similar Strategic Sourcing, Project Purchasing or Supplier Engineering role within the automotive industry
  • Experience of sourcing castings, electronics, mechanical and motor commodities
  • Experience of quality systems including APQP, PAPP, IATF 16949
  • Experience of developing a robust Supply Chain both locally, Europe and Asia
  • Strong Networker who can build relationships with Global Stakeholders
  • Experience of working with Engineers and NPD
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business Management or equivalent
