Software Project Engineer required for Lusona’s client, a global market leader providing software solutions within digital industry. Based in West Lothian, this is an exciting time to join the company’s close-knit and multi-disciplinary team responsible for the configuration and integration of advanced, highly innovative systems to customer sites.

Projects will be extremely varied and may include tasks including hardware and network installation, cyber security, data transformation, automation, scripting, interface integration, configuration, testing and training. You will be involved in working to deadlines on multi-year installation projects, as well as regular upgrades and reactive remediation projects both in the UK and overseas.

Ideally you will have strong experience in two or more of the following:

  • Linux server administration
  • Windows server administration
  • Programming languages (C++/C#/Java)
  • Scripting languages (Python, perl, shell, .vb)
  • Databases (Oracle preferred)
  • Network design
  • Cyber Security
  • Web Services
  • SOA technologies
  • Kubernetes
  • DevOps automation technologies (helm, chef, Jenkins)
  • Data management (design, migration, engineering, cleansing)
  • Automation Testing 

Coming from a Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering background, you will have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in software services. You will be an excellent communicator and effective team-player, with the ability to explain complex matters to customers in a clear, concise manner. A strong ‘can-do’ attitude is essential and you must be willing to undertake work on client sites both in the UK and abroad as necessary. Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills would be advantageous.
