Senior Actuarial Analyst required for the actuarial rectifications function of this large Banking corporate. The specialist team ensures that policies are managed in line with policy provisions, policyholders’ expectations and FCA requirements.

Based in Edinburgh, you will work collaboratively with the specialist team to support the actuarial input into a variety of important customer remediation projects. This will include:

  • Analysing a number of possible remediation approaches and writing options papers;
  • Ensuring compliance with Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) processes;
  • Managing and maintaining consideration of cost implications and practical constraints when formulating solutions;
  • Performing remediation calculations for policies and check calculations;
  • Building comprehensive models with the use of Excel or Access;
  • Identifying appropriate approach to non-standard cases;
  • Writing calculations specification, testing of IT models and manage queries relating to the use of models;
  • Support other members of the team as necessary, providing input to the knowledge and development across several disciplines.

You will be a Qualified Actuary - or finalist - with a minimum of 2-3 years’ practical experience working on company-wide projects. Pensions and life assurance product knowledge is preferred, although not essential. You must have advanced Excel skills and be able to demonstrate a strong technical ability in analysing problems, creating solutions and specifying calculations. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills are imperative, as are comprehensive written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence others.
