Regulatory Change Analyst required for the SMCR team of this Edinburgh based Asset Manager

You will play an integral part in providing support and advice to Senior Management and certified staff on all SMCR matters.  The team also provide assurance to the CEO that all SMCR requirements have been met, supporting individuals impacted by reg changes as well as requested from external parties and maintaining policy documentation, reports, systems, processes, controls and compliance assurances.

This role is all about….

Advisory:

  • Proactively engaging with SMCR firm colleagues and provide guidance and advice where required.
  • Oversee SMCR requirements and response to meet business and regulatory deadlines.
  • Provide a key support role and point of contact for SMCR change matters for individuals impacted by the regime, including those transitioning out of, or into the regime.
  • Work with stakeholders on issues across the business lines and functions to ensure their BAU activity takes appropriate account of the Regime. 
  • Have ongoing responsibility for impact analysis of business, role and responsibility changes on relevant documentation, notifications, T&C and any other SMCR related requirements.
  • Provide training around the implications of SMCR

Reporting:

  • Liaise with the internal teams to draft and facilitate the submission of regulatory applications, regulatory reporting and notifications and co-ordinate and track progress of changes through the teams and processes within target timelines.
  • Maintain regulatory records and deal with the prompt management of any resultant queries
  • Provide periodic reporting to Boards, CEOs and Departments.

Assurance:

  • Oversee key processes and controls ensuring that they work seamlessly and that delays are avoided.
  • Maintain SMCR documentation and relevant SMF and Certification Guides.

You will be an experienced Compliance / Risk / Governance professional within Finanical Services. You will ideally have experience of SMCR or MiFID regulations, however applications are also welcome from those who have reg change experience within Banking or Insurance. You will have a good understanding of business processes and appropriate synergies.  Experience of HRIS system is advantageous.  The role requires highly developed analytical skills coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  You will have the ability to build strong relationships and can work well to deadlines.
