Do you have a strong analytical background and enjoy working with Operations teams to make a difference through numbers? We have an excellent opportunity with our client based in Glasgow to take up the post of Project Accountant.

The role will involve working within a busy project environment and liaising with non-financial managers to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial performance on projects. The main duties will include:

  • Providing project managers with advice and support in financially managing their projects
  • Ensuring that SAP accurately reflects project costs and revenues to date, including any accruals or prepayments
  • Assisting the project managers in the preparation of monthly financial forecasts for their projects
  • Assisting the project manager in the preparation of a monthly financial sensitivity analysis for their projects
  • Analysing variances from as-bid financials by building a detailed monthly analysis of variances from prior forecast
  • Preparing an accurate project monthly status report
  • Attending project meetings and provide relevant financial input and reports as required
  • Preparing project cash flows in support of the Group's Treasury requirements for cash flow forecasting
  • Developing effective interfaces with the Projects Department and contribute to improvement programs; build/enhance relationships with project managers to ensure communication and flow of information is effective; work with project managers to develop and improve reporting tools/systems and make recommendations to improve/enhance existing processes
  • Preparation of ad-hoc internal and group reports and other duties as required
