Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a varied role providing Project Accounting and Finance Business Partnering support to the business on enterprise-wide projects.

This role is all about…

  • Supporting the Head of Finance in managing project management teams through the project life cycle and to ensure that financial considerations are addressed throughout.
  • Providing project reporting and forecasting support to the Head of Finance that helps to understand, interpret, and constructively challenge current business performance and practice identifying and implementing initiatives to improve processes and deliver business performance objectives and commitments. 
  • Supporting the preparation of MI, including budgets and financial statements on a timely and accurate basis that convey the financial message and ensure it is clear to the reader.
  • To develop and implement financial controls, processes and reporting of project initiatives.  To work with project management and key stakeholders to ensure that project expenditure is controlled appropriately and that it is reported accurately and on a timely basis across the business. 
  • Work with the PMO and Project Management community to build relationships and support them with their reporting needs.
  • Report project Actual spend plus Forecast to provide clear reporting on progress v Investment budget, noting and escalating any potential or actual problems
  • Understand the Project Demand and Supply views and be able to report on both and articulate any reason for gaps between the two
  • Understanding, interpreting, and constructively challenging current business performance and practice, identifying and implementing initiatives to improve processes and deliver business performance objectives and commitments.

About you…

  • You will be a conscientious and dynamic qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with the following technical competence
  • Accounting experience and Variance Analysis
  • The ability to interpret and communicate Financial Performance
  • The ability to build, maintain and improve Financial Spreadsheets / Models with strict version control
  • Can operate in detail and in the bigger picture
  • Experience of/ability to improve process
  • Experience of project accounting is advantageous but not essential.

Salary up to £40,000 pa (DOE) + Group Benefits.  Our client offers a modern professional office working environment as well as the opportunity to work remotely from home 2-3 days a week.
