An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced paralegal to join the Private Client team of this large legal firm Edinburgh. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for your own caseload.

This team is recognised to be leading Private Client specialists, offering advice on personal, legal and tax requirements. The successful candidate can expect client contact from the outset with a range of clients, including individuals, trustees, executors and institutions

  • Dealing with the administration of trusts and executries (including high value taxable estates).
  • Assisting in asset protection and capital gains tax mitigation in relation to trusts and executries.
  • Dealing with guardianship administration.
  • Preparation of wills and powers of attorney.
  • Keeping in regular contact with clients by telephone, email and general correspondence.
  • Working effectively with all members of the private client team including partners, solicitors, other paralegals, trust and tax accountants.
  • Maintaining excellent financial management of own cases.

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience of working in a private client team is essential. Experience in administering executries and trusts and drafting wills and powers of attorney would be advantageous.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work to strict deadlines.
  • Committed to the highest level of client care and service.
  • Committed to taking personal responsibility to learn on the job and keep knowledge up to date.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
