Policy Control Manager required for the Operations, Risk and Regulatory Control function of this Glasgow based Financial Services company

You will play an integral role in supporting the Operations Division of the business in:

  • the creation and maintenance of all Operations Policies & Procedures:
  • the release of courses to employees to fulfil training obligations:
  • building and maintaining the Policy Governance Framework for Operations and reporting on all Approved Exclusions to Policy for Operations; and
  • creating, reviewing and updating all Authorised Signatory Lists for Operations.
  • Manage the daily business as usual processes and maintain desktop procedures for those processes;
  • Assisting management in responding to any ad hoc queries received from Operations, Legal and Compliance in respect of Operations’ Policies and Procedures;
  • Work with a vendor/HR to release courses to Operations in line with global requirements;
  • Perform reviews of Operations’ Policies and Procedures and work with the global review/approval groups to review/approve any updates made to the Policies/Procedures;
  • Management of a small team, including coaching
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with divisions throughout the organisation, including, Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, Company Secretaries, Finance, and the wider team.

Coming from a Legal, Risk or Compliance background you will be a confident analytical person with excellent oral and written communication skills.  You will also possess the following attributes:

  • Management/supervision of team
  • The ability to interact and influence effectively at all levels of the organisation to present views and gain consensus amongst them;
  • Business writing ability – experience should include creation/editing of legal/policy documentation;
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and analytical skills as well as strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Well organised and can perform multiple day-to-day activities with minimal guidance and supervision, displaying excellent prioritisation and time management skills;
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for tasks, can work independently/remotely and as part of a team, sharing knowledge and contributing to team output and development;
  • Establishes clear goals and sets priorities for themselves and the team;
