Enthusiastic and ambitious PHP Software Developer required for Lusona’s client, a growing automotive business based in Glasgow.

The developer will join a skilled team in developing software to meet key business objectives and goals within a fast-paced environment. The Company’s IT systems are pivotal in meeting customer needs and contributing to the continuing success and growth of the business. This is a promising opportunity for an experienced developer to progress their career in a forward-facing organisation, working on both legacy systems and towards newer technologies and working methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing complex, advanced software solutions to meet both project and business requirements
  • Working autonomously and as part of a technical team - focusing on providing solutions; communicating risks and business impacts; and maintaining motivation to achieve the best possible outcomes
  • Support and maintain existing system coding – including recommending improvements to technology and optimising processes
  • Performing code review of other developers in the team in order to ensure best practice and maintain high quality code
  • Utilising troubleshooting and debugging skills to increase efficiency of the code
  • Supporting with the improvement of the DevOps environment
  • Putting customer experience at the forefront of software development duties

Key Skills & Experience

  • Expert knowledge in PHP web development
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an object-orientated developer, with a strong understanding of MVC patterns
  • Strong knowledge of SQL is essential, as is HTML and Oracle (or other leading RDBMS)
  • Practical experience of Javascript, JQuery, JQuery UI and Ajax would be preferred
  • Good understanding of responsive frameworks and JS libraries
  • Demonstrable competence in troubleshooting and debugging
