An ambitious Personal Tax Assistant Manager sought for this independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity to join a commercially minded tax team with excellent opportunity for career progression and development.

As Tax Assistant Manager, you will have responsibility for your own varied portfolio of personal tax clients consisting of small to medium businesses including sole traders, directors, partnerships, LLP's, and HNWI's. You will also be responsible for reviewing the work of junior members of the tax team and supporting senior management with the delivery of tax planning and advisory projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of diverse client portfolio, preparation of income and CGT computations and returns for clients as well as any ad hoc advisory work resulting from portfolio
  • Creating and maintaining effective client relationships by telephone or on a face-to-face basis at client meetings
  • Daily correspondence with HMRC
  • Overseeing and reviewing work of junior members of the tax team, providing guidance on complex clients and decision making
  • Actively contributing to the coaching, progression and development of the team
  • Communicating with other areas of the business in order to secure additional tax work and encouraging tax awareness to the broader office.

You will be professionally qualified (ATT/CTA) with at least 3-4 years’ experience in personal tax gained within a professional services environment. You will have experience at review level and demonstrate good people management skills. You will be self-motivated and demonstrate a willingness to develop and build upon your tax technical knowledge. Strong communication and inter-personal skills are imperative.
