A rare in-house opportunity to join a global professional services firm as Partnership Tax Senior Manager. This is a newly created role in Glasgowand offers an exciting opportunity to be part of building a new team to deliver world class service and design new and improved ways of working.

The principle responsibilities of the role are tax compliance for the UK head-quartered LLP and its partners plus the tax compliance for half of the LLP Group offices. Support will also be required by the ‘Head of’ for tax planning relating to Group structural changes. The role works closely with the Senior Tax Manager responsible for the LLP partners tax reserves and the tax compliance for the other half of the LLP Group offices. An assistant manager and a tax assistant support the team in the UK

Main responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the UK partnership tax computation and return.
  • Preparation of the tax computations and returns for the UK service companies.
  • Over-sight of the preparation of individual partner tax returns, prepared by the Assistant Tax Manager.
  • Compliance with sundry other UK tax reporting requirements such as the PSA and STBV's agreements.
  • Liaison with billings, financial accounting and systems teams within Financial Management regarding VAT matters.
  • Provision of support to local offices regarding their business and partner level income tax return filings which are prepared by local advisors.
  • Supporting the Head of Partnership Tax regarding any structural changes related to the responsible offices, including partner and staff mobility issues.
  • Supporting the Head of Partnership Tax on ad-hoc projects.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and implementing appropriate policy changes to ensure the firms continued compliance with legislation and utilisation of planning opportunities.
  • Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requires and internal policies.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience of independently preparing UK tax computations for a complex large business.
  • Strong UK tax technical knowledge
  • CTA, ATT, ITP, CA, ACCA, ACA or similar professional qualification
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly, orally or in writing with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team and to motivate and support other team members
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
