A new role has been created for a Legal Counsel to join the Central Procurement and Contracts team within a global law firm. The role could be based from a number of locations including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen or Birmingham and is suitable for applicants from Newly Qualified level and those Solicitors with up to c5 years of relevant PQE. Part-time applicants wishing to work a 4-day week are also invited to apply.
The successful candidate will support the firm in its sourcing, contracting and management of 3rd party suppliers, both in the UK and other jurisdictions where the firm has a presence. You will join an existing team comprising of 5 Lawyers which includes a Legal Director.
The role of the Contracts Lawyer is generally to draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts in support of the procurement, contracting and supplier management activities undertaken by the firm. The business functions that are supported by the team include IT, facilities HR and Learning, Business Development, communications, knowledge, finance and risk, compliance, legal services as well as the contracting arm of business. The team also assists fee earners with procurement and contracting activities when their practice groups have sourcing requirements.
The firm operates a flexible working policy whereby you could continue to work from home permanently at least 2 days/week.
