Excellent opportunity for a talented Junior or Graduate Network/Security Services Engineer to join a forward-thinking, Global network security organisation, specialising in the real-time mitigation of DDoS attacks. The Company pride themselves on their commitment to training and developing a high-calibre, specialist team, each with the abilities and willingness to challenge and innovate existing processes.

Initially based in Edinburgh, you will work collaboratively to build your skills and knowledge of their bespoke products, tools, and services. After completion of the provisional training period, you will have the opportunity to work from home on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Triage and respond to security, network, and installation incidents as generated via customer cases, analysis and/or automated tools
  • Determine root cause and make sound decisions, often with incomplete information
  • Engaging directly with customers to mitigate incidents in their environments
  • Research and analyse data sources to provide insights into new and emerging threats, trends and how to resolve them
  • Use your research to contribute to an internal knowledge-based library of the latest methods of detection and resolution
  • Troubleshooting issues with customer policies/controls, networks and virtual environments
  • Support with ad hoc projects and new product development

Ideally you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems and Networks, Computer Science or equivalent knowledge. You must demonstrate a good knowledge of systems and networks, as well as a keen interest in developing a career in the field of network security. You will have a good understanding of network protocols, routing and switching. Experience/knowledge of Linux environments is essential. Experience of Python (2&3) or Bash is desired. The successful individual must also demonstrate high levels of enthusiasm and determination to succeed.
