Lusona’s client, a respected independent firm of Chartered Accountants, seek a talented  and ambitious IT Manager to join their team in Glasgow. This is a newly created position to lead the firm’s technical function and provide support as the business continues to grow.

Reporting to the IT Director, you will be responsible for the management of a close-knit technical team in providing a comprehensive IT service to the business. Therefore, you must be a strong communicator with excellent leadership and coaching skills. You will maintain regular liaison with the IT Director and support with ad hoc technical projects. This role will also require management of 3rd party suppliers.

Essential Skills:

  • Previous experience and competence in people management, providing support and feedback where required
  • Excellent technical capabilities including troubleshooting, identifying solutions and an ability to “think outside of the box”
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Commercially-minded with the ability to prioritise projects and issues and complete within necessary timescales
  • Understanding of security threats, identifying and implementing remediation techniques


  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience of Citrix XenApp
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Active Directory
  • Networking – demonstrable knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and commands
  • Operating systems (server and desktop)
  • Scripting (i.e. Powershell)
  • IT Security


  • Previous experience within a professional services firm
  • Experience of Accountancy and document management applications
  • SQL scripting
  • Business Intelligence

You will be degree qualified with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within an IT support team. Professional IT qualification (Microsoft/ITIL/Prince2/Citrix) would be advantageous. People management and/or supervisory experience is essential. This is a fast-paced and interesting role with exciting opportunities for development and future potential for providing an IT consultancy service to clients.
