Internal Audit Assistant Manager required to join the Glasgow team of this Top 10 firm of Chartered Accountants and Advisors.

As Assistant Manager you will have responsibility for the running of audits and supervising and mentoring junior members of the team. Working closely with management, you will also have direct contact with clients and become involved in delivering audits and related projects for both commercial and not-for-profit clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end involvement in audit from planning to final reporting, working to best practice and utilising comprehensive knowledge and experience in audit
  • Carrying out a range of audit tests and procedures and accurate interpretation of results.
  • Ensuring all work is performed to the highest standard, prioritising audit quality in accordance with professional standards
  • Applying internal control concepts in a range of settings, developing necessary testing approach and assessing risks resulting from ineffective or missing control practices
  • Demonstrating an understanding of financial, operational and compliance risks which can affect client activities. Identifying and defining those risks and providing appropriate recommendations that are both practical and cost-effective.
  • Producing clear, concise supporting documentation to communicate auditor’s logic in line with key requirements
  • Evaluating audit results regarding relevancy, accuracy and perspective of conclusions against evidence gathered.

You will be a qualified Internal Auditor (MIIA/CCAM) or a talented External Auditor (CA) with demonstrable interest and exposure to building a career in Internal Audit. You will have a minimum of three years’ audit experience and comprehensive knowledge of internal controls and testing. You must be proficient in the use of MS Office and flow charting software; experience of data analytics software is desirable.
