An unusual In-House opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor with Data Privacy/GDPR experience to join the Risk team within this international law firm. The role could be based in Glasgow, Birmingham or London.
As this is a non-fee earning role, you can expect regular working hours and a good work life balance, the firm also has an agile working policy which would allow you to work from home 1 day/week, possibly more.
Ideally they are looking for a full-time Solicitor but wouldn't rule out p-time, especially a 4 day/week.
The role sits within a reasonably newly created team and reports into a Senior Lawyer who is based in Birmingham.
The work will include assisting with data subject rights requests, security incident assessments, Privacy Impact Assessments, providing DP input on client questionnaires and bids, reviewing and advising on data protection terms in supply contracts and terms of engagement with clients, playing a key role in preparing the firm for DP issues arising from Brexit and developing training materials and assisting with training and supporting the firm's network of Privacy Champions.
The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 2 years of PQE of advising on data protection in a commercial environment, including advising on GDPR, drafting privacy notices, negotiating and drafting data protection clauses with suppliers and advising on marketing issues.
