Experienced Indirect Tax Manager sought for the market-leading Scottish Indirect Tax practice of this Big 4 firm of Chartered Accountants.

The team sit across Glasgow and Edinburgh providing Indirect Tax services (VAT, Customs Duty, Green taxes) to a broad range of business sectors including Financial Services, Oil and Gas, International and Property clients. As Manager, you will become a key member of this fast-growing and client-focused team offering pure advisory, opportunity and compliance reviews, due diligence and preparation of reclaims to HMRC through regular liaison with other business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high quality Indirect Tax advisory services on a wide range of indirect tax issues
  • Maintaining and developing strong client relationships
  • Leading and managing interesting client projects, often on a large scale
  • Developing innovative solutions and opportunities for clients
  • Delegating work to junior members of the team, reviewing their work from both a technical and commercial perspective
  • Developing and managing more junior members of the team from both a technical and commercial perspective
  • Working closely with senior management, supporting with opportunities to build your profile and potential

You will be a qualified Accountant or Tax Advisor (ATT / CTA / ATII / CA or equivalent) with Indirect Tax experience gained within practice and/or in-house. You will be accomplished at manager level with demonstrable ambition to grow personally and professionally. Enthusiasm and a proactive approach to your work is key. You will also have the ability and willingness to train, mentor and develop junior members of the team and to work in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues, clients and the wider community.
