Indirect Tax Advisor sought for the highly successful and expanding specialist Indirect tax practice of this Big 4 firm of Chartered Accountants.

With the option to be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, this high profile VAT group specialise in leading clients through the maze of indirect taxes, including VAT, Customs Duties, Excise Duties, Environmental Taxes and Insurance Premium Tax working with a diverse portfolio of clients including large-listed, mid-market, inbound and government & public sectors.

The successful candidate will obtain a wide range of experience in all the core areas of indirect tax within a variety of markets and industries.  Focusing on a range of of compliance and consulting type queries covering a range of supply chain scenarios often spanning more than one tax jurisdiction.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain day to day tax relationships with clients and provide high level of client service
  • Build relationships both within the firm and externally with clients
  • Contribute to team's successful and timely delivery of compliance and advisory tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach taken

Skills required:

  • Indirect tax experience and keen to develop further
  • Good communicator in range of situations both written and oral
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to practical indirect tax problems
  • Client focused and commercially aware
  • Team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
  • Project management skills with ability to plan and prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Professional qualification desirable but not essential
