A rare and unique position has arisen for an experienced HR & Employment Law Consultant to join a professional services organisation in Glasgow. This role will provide an HR service to a range of external clients.

Reporting to the HR Manager, the external HR support will cover all aspects of the employment life cycle, including:

  • HR advice and administration to clients (e.g. disciplinary, grievance, family friendly rights, holidays, redundancy, dismissals, TUPE etc.)
  • Preparing HR documentation templates (e.g. contracts of employment, employee handbook, offer letters, line manager handbooks etc.)
  • Line Manager training in HR processes
  • Developing and reviewing templates for client use
  • Advice given should be of an exceptional quality based on HR best practice, employment law and practical experience
  • Completion of daily timesheets ensuring all client time is logged promptly
  • Achieving set utilisation targets
  • Setting up new clients on system
  • Raising fees, arranging direct debits and preparing invoice cover letters on a monthly basis
  • Preparing engagement letters
  • Identify opportunities for upselling during client interactions (e.g. HR software, HR training, payroll and other services)
  • Interacting with partners and staff of the firm to promote the external HR service available to clients

Skills and experience required:

  • HR experience with up to date Employment Law and Best Practice processes
  • Ability to build relationships and interact with a range of clients and industries
  • Experienced in creating and supporting on new HR processes, policies, handbooks, appraisals, employee relations and generalist guidance (coaching).
