An exciting opportunity has arisen within a professional services firm for an experienced HR Advisor to join their busy HR team within their Edinburgh office. This opportunity will involve managing an allocated division, coaching and mentoring line managers and staff throughout the business.

Please note this role will involve travel to the firm's other offices. 

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, this role will involve:

  • Manage all recruitment and selection activities within allocated divisions/teams across all sites
  • Generate and issue contracts of employment for appropriate staff
  • Coordinate payroll documentation for staff
  • Responsible for disciplinary, capability and grievance processes on all sites for allocated divisions/teams within the firm, advising managers on statutory points and drafting all associated documentation in relation to any processes
  • Manage maternity leave arrangements and flexible working requests for allocated divisions/teams and to draft all documentation in relation to these
  • Participate in the firm’s summer placement and graduate recruitment process
  • Attend recruitment fairs where required
  • Provide onboarding process to new employees to the business
  • Assist with the firm’s annual review process
  • Manage the firm’s absence management procedures including reporting, internal communications and return to work processes
  • Undertake exit interviews as appropriate
  • Administer appropriate training programmes
  • Develop policies in line with the legislative and organisation requirements
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the team

Skills and experience required:

  • HR experience gained within a Professional Services environment – Accountancy, Legal, Financial Services would be advantageous
  • Involvement with leading recruitment processes is advantageous
  • Preferably degree educated in a relevant discipline or, as a minimum, you will be working towards CIPD level 5 qualification, however full CIPD qualification to level 7 is desirable
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment – team player
  • Exposure to dealing with conflicting priorities
  • Can use own initiative and comfortable with problem-solving
