A rare opportunity for a Solicitor to join the Financial Regulation team within this international law firm, based in Edinburgh.

This Financial Regulation Team is one of largest in the UK with a mix of 25 lawyers and compliance professionals split over Leeds, London and Edinburgh. The team has a very strong reputation for regulated lending and banking and is ranked in Band One of Chambers and Partners 2011 for Consumer Finance. The firm's Payments practice is also considered to be one of the leading Payments practices in the UK.

A strong and growing part of the team advises on wider regulatory issues, including the regulation of funds, wealth and asset management, insurance distribution, capital requirements and the client assets rules.

The team's work is varied and interesting: their advice ranges from retail customer terms and customer journeys (often at the cutting edge of product development), through to commercial interactions for highly regulated financial sector businesses, conduct matters, interaction with the FCA and the Financial Ombudsman, and remediation and contentious issues. They work closely with other teams on FS transactions, banking and funds structuring work.

They are seeking a junior lawyer to join this high performing and busy team with excellent prospects for career development. They have a strong reputation for providing lawyers with early levels of responsibility within a supportive and stretching environment. Therefore anyone taking up this role can expect to have the opportunity to play a significant role in working for clients that are key to the Division and to the firm.

The successful candidate will ideally have some Financial Regulation experience (or can demonstrate a keen and genuine interest) gained within a comparable environment and at an appropriate level and be looking to grow that knowledge in a proactive way.
