We are currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller on behalf of our client a growing SME based in Musselburgh, The Financial Controller is an integral part of the team in and will report directly into the Managing Directors. The role has become available due to restructure and future projected growth. As the business continues to grow and diversify, so too does the need for an experienced Financial Controller who has the ability to progress within the business. The business currently employs around 120 people and operates at a turnover of £10m with year on year growth as a result of strong trading and recent acquisitions.
The main duties will include:
Preparation of monthly management accounts on a timely basis, including calculation and posting of month end prepayments, accruals, depreciation etc.
Preparing monthly budgets and monitoring budgets against actual performance. Providing commentary on variances.
Providing commentary on the performance of each element of the business.
Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
Preparing cash flow forecasts and monitoring to actual.
Liaising with external auditors at year end.
Overseeing sales and purchase invoice processing.
Authorising and processing payments runs, dealing with supplier queries and ensuring control accounts are maintained.
Monitor internal processes and control making suggested improvements where required.
Monitor capital expenditure
We are looking for CA/CIMA/ACCA qualified candidates with 4 years post qualification experience in a similar role with the ability to work to tight deadlines and be able take initiative and ownership of tasks with the ability to work with little supervision, knowledge of Sage Line 50 would be advantageous.
