Experienced and enthusiastic Finance Analyst required to join the newly-formed treasury finance team of this Glasgow-based plc. This is a rare career-enhancing opportunity which combines accounts production with meaningful analysis and reporting.

As part of the wider Group Finance unit - and working closely with colleagues across a variety of specialisms - the team are responsible for overseeing, producing and managing all P&L, Balance Sheet, MI and KPI reporting in respect of the Treasury Finance unit. You will be responsible for month-end production activities, as well as preparing insightful commentary and supporting with internal project work. Reporting to management, key responsibilities include:

  • Producing treasury management accounts, including full balance sheet and P&L (e.g. monthly control files, journal preparation and reconciliations)
  • Developing tailored and insightful management reporting in line with business trends and requirements
  • Providing commentary on monthly and YTD Funding movements and variance between actual and forecasted results
  • Assist with preparation of external Group Reporting, as required
  • Providing detailed specialist insight to support preparation of financial management information in support of effective business strategies, targets and objectives
  • Maintaining documented controls and processes to deliver accurate financial metrics; designing and implementing initiatives to improve financial governance
  • Supporting with operational and process improvement, as well as ad hoc project work

You will be newly or soon-to-be qualified (ICAS/ACCA/ACA) with strong IFRS accounting knowledge gained within financial services, a Big 4 firm or large corporate environment. Experience of management reporting or statutory accounting is essential, as is an understanding of internal controls within a financial services organisation. Ideally you will demonstrate treasury product knowledge and demonstrable experience of using analytics in support of key business metrics. Exceptional communication skills are essential in explaining complex accounting matters in a clear, concise manner.
