Disclosures Accounting Manager required for the Finance team of this Glasgow based services corporate.

The Disclosures team are responsible for preparing certain financial disclosures of the firm. These disclosures are produced in multiple accounting frameworks (US GAAP, IFRS and UK GAAP) as well as preparation of Financial Regulatory Reporting.  Amongst these disclosures are fair value measurement, derivatives, collateral, off balance sheet commitments and guarantees and structured entities

As a Manager in the Glasgow Disclosures team, you will be involved in a number of complex disclosures within a variety of financial reporting. Out with the quarterly production cycle, you will be involved in projects such as implementing new reporting requirements and process improvements. You will also manage a team and assist in their development. 

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Review firm US GAAP and local IFRS financial reporting and related regulatory disclosures (outlined above)
  • Managing a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants
  • Analysing large data sets and producing commentary on movements and trends
  • Acting as a first point of escalation to liaise with global product controllers when they face challenges to gather transaction detail for disclosures and/or commentary regarding material movements
  • Escalating issues to senior management
  • Reviewing and presenting MI
  • Preparing commentary for public firm disclosures
  • Manage your own and your teams’ workflow progress
  • Driving improvement projects in relation to process and controls

You will be a qualified Accountant (CA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with experience of financial reporting production or assurance gained in financial services, practice or large corporate.  Experience/knowledge of FMV disclosures advantageous but not essential.  You will have experience at review level and can demonstrate ability to manage the workload of yourself and team balancing multiple priorities and tight deadlines. The role requires a highly motivated individual with strong technical skills who is methodical and has strong analytical and people engagement skills.
