A new opening for a Data Protection/Information Law Solicitor to join a global law firm. The role could be based out of various UK offices which includes Glasgow, Edinburgh, London or Manchester and is suitable for applicants with 0-3 years of relevant experience.
The successful candidate will join a market leading international TMT practice and specialise in technology with a particular focus on data (data projects, data protection and GDPR).
This will include:
Advising on a full range of data privacy matters, including regulatory compliance, privacy impact assessments, data subject requests, contract remediation, GDPR compliance programs, and trans-border data flows;
Assisting with data protection in a contractual/transactional context for example IT contracts, services agreements, complex international transfers of data both intra-group and between third parties, data licensing, data sharing agreements and online terms - a proportion of time will be spent on reviewing, drafting and negotiation; this may include an element of IT/commercial drafting more generally, but with the focus being primarily on data protection and privacy work.
Previous hands-on experience of advising on data protection projects is a key requirement, including experience of advising on GDPR, on international data transfers, drafting privacy notices, negotiating and drafting data processor agreements and advising on marketing issues.
An awareness of and good understanding of upcoming regulatory changes in the data protection sphere is expected.
