Data Analytics Manager required for the expanding Data Governance & Analytics team of this Glasgow based global services firm. This is a newly created business critical role in allow the Firm to fully exploit the data assets that it holds. As a key member of the team delivering the Data and Analytics strategy, you will be directly contributing to the future direction of the firm.

This role is all about…..

As a senior member of the team, you will take a lead on delivering high and insightful analysis across the firm.  Your primary responsibilities will include…

  • Develop and support analytics processes.
  • Liaise with internal clients to fully understand data content and use.
  • Gather, understand and document data analysis requirements using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Conduct knowledge sharing exercises with more junior members of the team and contribute to wider knowledge sharing sessions such as lunch and learn events.
  • Document analytics deliverables and share learnings
  • Analyse information to identify any potential data risks and escalate where necessary.
  • Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets.
  • Identify patterns and trends in data.
  • Prepare reports for internal clients and, at times, external use, using business analytics reporting tools.
  • Maintain team documentation and ensure line manager is kept up to date on project progress.
  • Create data dashboards, graphs and visualisations that enhance the understanding of the audience.

About you….

 Proven work experience as a Data Analyst or equivalent.

  • A data evangelist who has a passion for data.
  • Exceptional eye for detail coupled with an analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and able to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgement and business awareness.
  • Strong data literacy skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Working experience of combining multiple data sets to provide actionable insights.
  • An excellent working knowledge of at least two of SQL, R or Python.
  • The ability to analyse, model and interpret data.
  •  Proven experience of delivering insights with Power BI.
  •  Intuitively know which visualisation suits which scenario.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to liaise and communicate effectively at all levels across the firm and offices.
