Corporate Tax Manager required for the expanding Glasgow Corporate Tax department of this distinguished mid-tier firm of Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors.

The Corporate Tax department works as a single cross-office team to provide clients with both efficient and accurate compliance and value-adding holistic commercial tax advice.

As Manager your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Management of the global compliance portfolio liaising inter-office, inter-department and with clients where appropriate;
  • Reviewing work of peers and junior personnel, providing constructive feedback where necessary;
  • Working closely with junior members of the team to aid their personal and technical development;
  • Providing input into the systems and controls operating over the compliance function;
  • Working closely with senior members of the team, assisting with and/or and managing tax advisory projects, including reviewing the advisory work of peers and junior personnel;
  • Line management responsibility for trainees and other junior members of the team.
  • Being actively involved in business development with current and prospective clients.

You will be a qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, ACA) or Tax Advisor (CTA, ITP) with relevant corporate tax compliance experience gained within a firm of Chartered Accountants.  It would be of benefit if you have relevant tax advisory experience; have been in client facing roles and are interested in business development.  You will be able to demonstrate competence at review level including the ability to line manage corporate tax trainees. You will be actively pursuing career development, you will take a professional approach to their work and can demonstrate both technical excellence and commercial acumen.
