Lusona’s client, a respected mid-tier firm of Chartered Accountants, currently seek an ambitious Corporate Tax Assistant Manager for their tax team in Edinburgh.

In a client-focused role, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for providing a trusted corporate tax service to a range of clients and ensuring excellent standards and quality at all times. Supervision and coaching of junior staff will also be integral, as is participation in ad hoc advisory requirements. This position would suit a qualified tax advisor looking to take the next step in their career or an ambitious accounts professional with proven experience and knowledge of corporate tax.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of business and corporation tax compliance assignments for clients in a highly efficient manner, being the main point of contact for clients and providing a first-class service at all times
  • Maintaining tax quality at all times in line with the firm’s standards
  • Preparing and submitting corporation tax returns and carrying out supporting computations
  • Advising on tax liabilities when necessary
  • Regular communication with HM Revenue & Customs
  • Providing assistance with planning and advisory work, working effectively with other business departments
  • Providing direction, supervision, coaching and training to junior members of staff, reviewing their work and undertaking appraisal meetings
  • Maintaining an advanced technical knowledge, building upon existing skills through reading and attending professional development courses

You will be professionally qualified (ATT/CA/ACCA) with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice. You will have had relevant exposure to corporate tax and experience in managing a busy portfolio of clients. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential in dealing with both clients and staff members. Previous experience of specialist tax software would be desireable.
