Corporate Tax Assistant Manager required for the successful Corporate Tax department of this respected mid-tier firm of Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors in Glasgow. This is a rare and rewarding opportunity for a career-minded tax professional who can demonstrate both technical excellence and commercial acumen.

Operating as a single cross-office team, the corporate tax team provide clients with both efficient and accurate compliance and value-adding holistic commercial tax advice. You will gain experience of working with wide ranging entrepreneurial SME’s through to large groups, including well-known brands.

As Assistant Manager your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Management of the corporate tax compliance for your own client portfolio including budget and billing requirements
  • Assisting with the management of the global compliance portfolio liaising with other members of the team, as well as inter-department and with clients where appropriate;
  • Reviewing work of peers and junior members of the team, providing constructive guidance and feedback where necessary;
  • Working closely with junior members of the team to aid their personal and technical development;
  • Providing valuable input into the systems and controls operating over the compliance function;
  • Assisting with interesting tax advisory projects for clients within your portfolio or areas of expertise

You will be a qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, ACA) or Tax Advisor (CTA, ITP) with a minimum of 3 years’ corporate tax compliance experience gained within a firm of Chartered Accountants. It would be of benefit to have corporate tax advisory experience, as well as experience within client facing roles and a keen interest in business development; however these are not essential provided you demonstrate a strong willingness to challenge yourself and develop such skills.
