Rare and interesting opportunity for a recently qualified tax adviser to join the specialist private business tax team of this Big 4 firm of Chartered Accountants.

With the option to be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, you will be responsible for providing high-quality tax advisory services for a range of privately owned businesses and private equity back groups as well as Partnerships and high net worth individuals.

Using strong knowledge of the taxation system and the impact on both corporate and private clients, you will become a trusted client adviser and develop a comprehensive tax knowledge through additional training and on-the-job learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive management of a varied and interesting portfolio of clients
  • Building and nurturing effective client relationships via regular direct client contact
  • Proactive involvement in client financial matters
  • Acting as a role model for junior members of the team, offering support and knowledge where necessary
  • Regular attendance at both internal and external meetings, building your own network of key contacts
  • Maintaining and sharing knowledge of local and national business and economic issues which could have an impact on your clients and their industries
  • Active involvement in business development activities, identifying/researching potential new clients or new opportunities for existing clients and working towards involvement in new business meetings alongside senior members of the team.
  • Working closely with specialists from other business areas including areas such as M&A, Capital Allowances, R&D, Pensions and Reward.

This a great opportunity to gain exposure to interesting and often high-profile clients and build a successful tax advisory career. You will be a professionally qualified (CA, CTA, LLB ATII) with a minimum of 3 years’ UK corporation tax experience gained in a top accountancy or professional services firm. You will be ambitious and willing to take on a new challenge and committed to developing tax knowledge and risk awareness. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
