A new opportunity has become available for a Solicitor to join the Contentious Construction team which sits within the Property & Infrastructure Disputes Group at a leading Scottish independent law firm. The role would be based in Edinburgh.
The team’s construction disputes expertise is vast and includes the following areas: infrastructure, civil engineering, utilities, waste-water, transport, energy, renewables, flood prevention schemes, commercial, domestic, PFI/PPP, and professional negligence.
The work on offer will include:
• Advising contractors and employers throughout the UK on issues relating to construction and engineering contracts.
• Advising contractors and employers in construction disputes in the Court of Session, Sheriff Court, and the Technology and Construction Court.
• Advising and representing employers and contractors throughout the UK in Adjudications, Mediations, Arbitrations and Expert Determinations.
Applicants will ideally have between 1-3 years of relevant PQE, ideally with some construction litigation experience but that is by no means essential. Other Litigation experience will be considered if you can also demonstrate strong analytical and drafting skills, the ability to provide and to communicate practical and commercial advice as well as good interpersonal and consultancy skills.
