Our Glasgow based Public Sector Client is looking to appoint an experienced Commodity Manager to join their established team.

The Commodity Manager will be responsible for managing small Procurement Team and managing a product portfolio of spend. You will be responsible for the delivery of successful end to end OJEU tenders for key Stakeholders, ensuring that costs, quality and performance targets are met.

The Commodity Manager will mentor and develop the team and support them to achieve their work load. They will work with Stakeholders to understand the scope of the procurement project and devise the procurement strategy for the successful and complaint delivery of the overall project.

Experience and knowledge required for the role;

  • You will have experience of end to end tendering experience – development of specification & strategy, evaluation, award and supplier management
  • Detailed knowledge of EU Procurement Laws & Directive
  • Contract Law experience
  • Experience of mentoring and developing successful teams and supporting their career growth
  • Strong Influencing and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy dealing with a diverse mix of Stakeholders and Suppliers
  • Have a hardworking ethos and takes pride in the delivery of successful procurement projects
