Business Data Analyst required for the Data & Decisioning team of this Glasgow based Financial Services company.  The Data & Decisioning team deal with the data requirements relating to the organisations change programmes and management of MDM applications, the EDW, Data marts and the BI platform.

As a Business Data Analyst in the team, you will co-ordinate impact assessments and produce business data requirements to agreed standards, within time and budget constraints on both strategic and BAU projects.  You will work with varying stakeholders across the business including colleagues from the Data & Decisioning team, the wider business community, other IT functions and delivery partners in shaping of appropriate requirements to support and applications design that meets both strategic and operational needs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing business data requirement specifications & process flows (business and data)
  • Analysis of information requirements on complex data-driven projects involving integration, data warehousing, business intelligence and master data management technologies
  • Creation of source to target data mappings/lineage
  • Production of Logical Data Models to facilitate database design
  • Collating Business Terms & Technical metadata to feed the Data Asset Register
  • Performing Data Profiling analysis to ensure the data is accurate, complete and fit for purpose
  • Delivering analysis to industry best practices
  • Actioning continuous improvement initiatives to further strengthen our analysis capability

Key Experience / Skills:

You will be an experienced Data Analyst with the following skills:

Preferential skills/experience:

  • Financial Services experience
  • A working knowledge of logical data modelling and source to target data mapping
  • A good understanding of data lifecycle management, MDM and DQM concepts and technologies
  • A good understanding of software delivery methodologies (e..g. waterfall, agile etc)
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse and BI applications and technologies - (e.g. SQL, Business Objects, SAS, Oracle DB, IBM Data Stage, Cognos, Microstrategy)
