Data Governance Business Analyst required for Lusona’s client – a global professional services firm in Glasgow – to be engaged on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

The Role:

The Data Governance Business Analyst will support the Head of Data Governance in delivering processes relating to the collection, processing, management, transfer and subsequent destruction of data. Key responsibilities include:

  • Business process review, documentation and enhancement in line with the GDPR
  • Documenting the processing and data models of personal data within the business
  • Reviewing the firm’s existing Data Protection Training and developing requirements which allow global use
  • Working closely with data users in order to identify retention periods for the data they use, developing stand-alone requirements into a comprehensive data period for each data type

Key Skills and Experience


  • Business Analysis experience, including requirements gathering using relevant tools and techniques
  • Experience of producing Business Process documentation – including process diagrams and supporting documentation
  • Previous involvement in Business Process Redesign
  • Experience of producing non-technical data models
  • Working knowledge of various analysis techniques/methods (including requirements definition and specification, ERD/DFD’s, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of the GDPR and relevant data protection processes
  • Prior experience working in a global organisation would be beneficial


  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Effective team working skills and an ability to build successful working relationships across the business
  • Proactive approach to responsibilities, maintaining client focus at all times
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to make strategic decisions and deliver high quality results in pressured situations
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
