Corporate Tax Assistant Manager or Manager required to join the thriving tax practice of this Big 4 firm. With the option to be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, this is an excellent career opportunity to act as ‘engagement manager’ for your clients, as well as a key point of contact for colleagues and Partners alike.

The corporate tax practice delivers comprehensive and innovative tax solutions to a range of clients worldwide. Combining a collaborative and practical approach, the team ensure that their service delivery is consistent in all jurisdictions and help businesses to meet their worldwide tax and statutory responsibilities robustly and efficiently. They are also integral to identifying advisory opportunities that align with the company's risk profile.

The tax practice has a market-leading reputation, bringing together a unique blend of tax consulting, technology, tax technical and tax reporting experience to help businesses to meet the challenges of multi-jurisdictional tax operations, including compliance, reporting, technology and risk management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Acting as the main contact for your client portfolio, building deep trusted client relationships and being responsible for quality, delivery and all aspects of client service on the engagement
  • Working with offshore and nearshore teams to plan and deliver the entire corporate tax compliance and /or reporting process
  • Developing an understanding of clients tax data and technologies, and building experience of the tax management consulting advisory services, to identify and help deliver improvements to clients tax compliance and reporting processes, technologies and governance
  • Using your knowledge of your clients' businesses to help bring tax advisory solutions, take a leading role in delivering these advisory projects
  • Mentoring more junior members of the team, playing an active role in their development
  • Work across a range of industries including FS, Consumer Business, Energy & Resources, Technology, Media and Telecommunications

You will be nearly or newly CA/ACCA/CTA/ITP qualified with a minimum of 2-3 years’ corporate tax experience gained within a top firm of Chartered Accountants. You will demonstrate a truly innovative approach with strong problem-solving abilities. Exceptional client engagement and management skills are essential.
