Audit Senior Manager required for the expanding Glasgow Audit team of this mid-tier firm of Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors.

The audit team have achieved unprecedented growth in recent years including significant commercial client wins. As Senior Manager, you will be responsible for a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors including construction, FMCG, retail and manufacturing. In addition, you will play an integral role in running the department, developing staff and assisting in the development of the audit practice.

  • Identifying and understanding clients’ needs, communicating with Partners and the wider team;
  • Planning (budget, staffing), executing and finalising audit projects within tight deadlines;
  • Managing audit workflow to identify staffing availability across a number of offices;
  • Controlling cost budgets, meeting reporting timetables and preparing client reporting documents;
  • Billing, fee negotiation, WIP and debt management reviews;
  • Identifying risk matters and maximising fee earnings from audit portfolio;
  • Management of the audit department including file reviews, staff appraisals, training and mentoring
  • Involvement in a number of firm wide performance initiatives and specific ad-hoc projects.
  • Maintaining professional standards and participating in firm-wide performance initiatives;
  • Key involvement with developing and implementing the firm’s audit approach;
  • Regular involvement and contribution to management and department meetings

You will be a commercially minded qualified Accountant (CA / ACCA / ACA) with relevant external audit experience gained at Manager/Senior Manager grading within a mid-tier or Big 4 firm. You will have demonstrable group reporting experience, including complex consolidations, as well as specialist knowledge of UK GAAP. The role requires a high degree of personal impact to both influence clients and to lead and inspire junior members of the team.
