Audit Manager required for the expanding Audit & Advisory practice of one of Scotlands' leading independent firms' of Chartered Accountants in Edinburgh.  

The firm have experienced unprecedented growth in recent years including significant audit client wins. The team work with a wide range of clients including privately owned businesses with turnovers up to £120m as well as Charities and Housing Associations. As Audit Manager, you will manage your own varied client portfolio, with responsibility for providing an efficient and proactive service ensuring exceptional service delivery at all time.  Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Fully plan (budget, staffing), execute and finalise audit projects within tight deadlines
  • Manage audit workflow to identify staffing availability from other offices
  • Control cost budgets, meeting reporting timetables and preparing client reporting documents
  • Billing, fee negotiation, WIP and debt management reviews
  • identify risk matters and maximise fee earnings from your portfolio
  • Involvement in the management of the audit department – file reviews, appraisals, training, mentoring
  • Assisting in the continuous improvement and development of the firms audit approach

You will be a qualified Accountant (CA / ACCA) with previous experience of supervising/managing junior staff in a firm of Accountants. You will have extensive group reporting experience, including complex consolidations as well as specialist knowledge of UK GAAP.  Developed interpersonal and client relationship management skills are imperative for this role, as is strong time management skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative.
