Lusona have been instructed by our client, a well known large Chartered Accountants in Scotland, to recruit an Audit Assistant Manager.

With the option to be based out of their Glasgow or Edinburgh office, the successful candidate will be exposed to a large number of audits of FTSE 100 companies, alongside public-sector work, property, construction and retail amongst many other sectors. Clients range from listed entities, international groups and enterprise clients which are family owned or equity backed. This is an excellent opportunity to progress your audit career and gain significant responsibility within a successful audit practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and project-managing all aspects of audit assignments
  • Leading audit teams on the ground
  • Reporting directly to management on a regular basis, keeping them up to date on audit progress and findings
  • Budgeting and monitoring the financial performance of projects with a key focus on maximising profitability
  • Supervising, mentoring and coaching junior members of staff 
  • Report writing for Audit Committees and senior management
  • Building effective relationships with client staff and acting as an ambassador for the firm
  • Monitoring and maintaining a high quality audit service and standard at all times

You will be a Qualified (or soon to be qualified) CA/ACA/ACCA with external audit experience gained within an accountancy practice. Practical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS are essential as is the awareness of New UK GAAP (FRS 101 and 102). Experience of US GAAP desirable. You will have strong communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills and will demonstrate the ability to act as a role model and leader.
